From October 2,020, the rare earth prices are increased very high, compare to the lowest point in March 2,020, now the price is increased over 1 times, the market price of Nd/Pr metal is typically - 770,000 RMB/ton, as NdFeB magnets is the biggest market for rare earth, so we can find some information from the market, to give some estimation.
In 2,020, the output of NdFeB is about 300,000 tons in China, wind generator, electric bike and new energy vehicle is 3 big end need, cellphone, ordinary products are very widely, so now the NdFeB magnet is not a functional material, but a base material, it's used widely in our life.
We find that the consumer products occupies 50% NdFeB magents, and comnsumer products is depended on peoples' wallet, as we well konws, the covid-19 effects most peoples income from 2,020, so the consumer need is getting smaller.
However now Chinese rare earth production is strongly effected by production ability, and it's only 50% to it should be, the supply side is not active, so it lead to a short stock for rare earth, we can't buy enough metal from market, and the high price reject many application.
We think in 2,021, the price of rare earth will still keep in high level, whatever the market need is active or passive; maye in May~June 2,022, the price trend will be clear.
